Our local AM Jeff Cuthbert has received this letter from Carwyn Jones AM Minister for the Environment, Planning and the Countryside

Here are the two centre paragraphs of the letter in larger print.

' I can confirm that no decision about call-in has yet been taken and that consultations on the matter are still ongoing. The local authority has told us that the application will not be determined until near the end of the year.

I will ensure that the points raised will be taken into account when the decision about whether to call in the application is made. I will also ensure that you are informed of the decision.'

Latest News October 17th 2006

Comments on the planning application of June this year, have now been sent in to Caerphilly County Borough Council by Cadw: Welsh Historic Monuments. There is no further news.

As happens with all 'blog' sites, the beginning of the story starts at the bottom of the blog which by this time is rather far away and we ask the indulgence of newcomers to the site for having to make such a long backwards journey to discover what has been happening. We just hope it is worth the trouble.

A grid reference for the castle might also help newcomers to identify the location of the site. OS ST 219 863
